Pooja Chordia

My office is located at 217 in the Majestic Shopping Centre on N Charni Road, specifically on Gill Road. It’s a busy building with a lot of different shops and offices crammed together. I’ve been operating under the name Pooja Chordia from this spot for quite a while. Getting to the second floor isn't too bad, though the stairs can be a bit of a workout if you're not used to them. The shopping centre itself has that old Mumbai feel, where everyone knows everyone else’s business. My space is quite simple. I have a desk, a couple of chairs for visitors, and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. Charni Road is a hectic place, but once you get inside the Majestic Shopping Centre, it gets a little bit quieter, though you can still hear the trains and the traffic. I do most of the work myself, which means I’m usually busy with something or the other. It’s not a polished corporate environment. There are often stacks of paper around and I might be eating my lunch at the desk if things are moving fast. People come by for various reasons, and I try to help them out as best as I can. It’s an honest way to make a living in a part of the city that never really stops. I like the routine of coming here every morning and opening up the shutters to start the day.
