Pearl Foods

Pearl Foods is based out of Ghatkopar West, right near CP Tank 3. This area is always crowded, and we are right in the middle of all that activity. We started out small and stayed that way because it's easier to manage. The shop isn't very large, so things can get a bit cramped when we have deliveries arriving. We mostly handle things ourselves, from stocking the shelves to talking to the people who stop in. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station, but folks seem to find their way here anyway. We don't have a big website or a social media person. Most of the news about what we have spreads by word of mouth among the neighbors. The floor is a bit uneven in the back room, and the shelves are made of simple wood we put up ourselves. We focus on getting the daily tasks done without making a big deal out of it. It’s just us here every day, making sure things are in order. Sometimes we run out of things faster than we expected, but that's just how it goes in a place like this. We appreciate the people who have been coming to us for years. They know our names and we know theirs. It feels like a small community even though Ghatkopar is so huge and busy. The door squeaks when it opens, but we know it's just someone coming in to see what's new today.
