Sumthing Fishy

Sumthing Fishy is our small shop over at Shop No-4 on Sant Savta Marg in Byculla. We are right opposite the Gloria Church, which is a big landmark around here in Mumbai 400027. If you know the church, you can’t miss us. It is a small space, but we make it work. Byculla is a busy part of the city, and there is always a lot of noise and people walking by our door. We focus mostly on what we know, which is fish. The shop doesn't have a lot of room for sitting, so things move pretty fast. We get our stock early in the morning from the markets. It’s a bit of a grind, getting everything ready before the lunch rush starts. We don't have a social media manager or anything like that. We just open the shutters and start the day. The area has changed a lot, but the church stays the same, and we try to stay consistent too. Sometimes the rain in Mumbai makes it hard to get around, but we stay open as long as we can. It’s just a regular local business. We know many of the people who walk by every day. It’s not a fancy place, just a simple shop where we do what we can with what we have. The ice needs to stay fresh and the counters wiped down every day.
