We are located over in Powai at Plot No 34 and 35 in the Shah Industr area. Canning Mitra Phoenix Pvt Ltd is where the work happens every day, and it’s usually quite loud because of the machines running in the back. The space is large but it’s mostly taken up by equipment and the materials we need for the canning process. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that, just a small door that leads into the main floor. The guys on the floor wear heavy boots and we’re always reminding each other to stay safe around the lines. It gets pretty warm in the middle of the afternoon, especially near the machinery, so we have big fans blowing all the time to keep the air moving. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time and have gotten used to the rhythm of the place. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the whole morning fixing a belt or a motor, which throws the schedule off. It’s not a glamorous job but it’s honest work and we take it seriously. We eat our lunch together in a small break room that has a fridge that’s a bit temperamental. You’ll find us here from early morning until the sun goes down, just keeping the production going. It’s a lot of physical work and the floors are always being hosed down to keep things clean.
