Sumaraj Seafoods Pvt. Ltd. is located in the Fort area, specifically at No. 262, Captain Building. We are on the second floor in Room No. 20. Fort is a very old part of the city, so the building has a lot of history and high ceilings. S.B. Singh Road is always crowded with people and cars, so it’s a bit of a trek to get to the office sometimes. We deal with seafood, which means our schedules are often dictated by the fishing seasons and the market prices. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got some old wooden desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a fancy espresso machine. We just drink regular chai from the vendor downstairs. Working in seafood is all about being quick and having good contacts at the docks. We spend a lot of time on the phone making sure the catch is being handled right. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity. We just like the business and the people we work with. There are always challenges, like when the refrigeration breaks down or a truck gets stuck in traffic, but we figure it out. It’s just how things go in this line of work. We’ve been in this room for years and it suits our needs just fine. We just keep our heads down and get through the day's tasks.
