Paresh Engineering Company

Morning usually starts early here in Andheri East. We get to Building 5 in the Mittal Industr area and get the lights on. It’s right there at 74 B in the Vishwananak Chakala section. The shop floor is always a bit messy with metal shavings and tools left out from the day before. We spend a lot of time just working on different engineering projects that come our way. There is no air conditioning, so the big fans just hum all day long to keep the air moving. My clothes usually have a few small holes from sparks by the end of the week. Paresh Engineering Company isn't some big corporate office; it’s just a place where we get things done with our hands. We have a small table for tea breaks where we sit and watch the traffic outside. It gets pretty loud with all the trucks coming into the industrial estate. Sometimes people from the other buildings drop by just to borrow a tool or chat for a minute. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and the floor is cracked in a few places, but it doesn't bother us much. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. It's a busy, noisy life, but we've been at this address for a long time and we're used to the rhythm of the machines.
