We are located in the Neelkamal Co-operative Housing Society, specifically in room A604 of the A1 building. This is part of the Neelganga complex right on Hanuman Galli in Lower Parel. Being in the West side of Mumbai, it is always a bit chaotic outside with the traffic and the shops, but once you get up to the sixth floor, it is a bit quieter. Our office is not what you might expect from a legal services place. It feels more like a lived-in space because it is inside a housing society. We have our computers set up and we spend the day going through documents and checking for errors. The light in the afternoons is quite nice through the windows, though it can get a bit hot if we don't keep the AC running. We have been here for a good amount of time and we know the security guards and the local shopkeepers downstairs. Most of us commute from different parts of Mumbai, so the morning chat is usually about how bad the trains were. We don't have a big receptionist or a waiting area with magazines. You just walk in and we are all right there at our desks. It is a practical way to work and it keeps our overhead low. We just focus on the legal work and try to get home before the rains get too bad in the evenings. It is a decent way to spend the work week.
