Paint India

Paint India is located at 102 Fort, right at Akshar Chowk. It is a busy spot where we spend our days surrounded by cans of every color you can think of. The smell of thinner and fresh paint is something we are just used to now. We deal with a lot of contractors and people who are just trying to fix up their own homes. The building at Fort is old, like many others in this part of the city, and it has a lot of character. We don't have a polished showroom with fancy lights. Instead, we have stacks of buckets and color charts spread out on the counters. At Akshar Chowk, the noise of the traffic is constant, and we often have to shout a bit to be heard over the trucks. We help people pick out shades, but we don't try to push anything on them. Sometimes they just need a single tin to cover a patch on a wall. We have been working in this trade for a long time and we know how the humidity here affects the way paint dries. It is a practical business. We get our clothes stained and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We are just a group of people who know our products and enjoy being in the middle of the city. If you come by, you'll see us moving boxes or mixing a custom batch for someone. It is a lot of work but it keeps us going.
