Our business, Oriental Manufacturing Co, is located in 'Oriental Bhavan' at 211, Sheriff Devji Street. The building is one of those sturdy old ones that has been around for a long time. We occupy a good chunk of space there. Sheriff Devji Street is always busy with people moving goods back and forth, so there’s a lot of energy. Inside Oriental Bhavan, it’s a bit more settled. We have the manufacturing area and then some space for the office work. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There’s always the sound of something happening, whether it’s a machine or someone talking loudly on the phone. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or decor. The desks are old wood and the chairs are just okay. We focus more on the actual work than how the office looks to outsiders. Most of us have worked for Oriental Manufacturing Co for years, so it feels a bit like a second home. We know which floorboards creak and how to fix the light if it starts flickering. We handle our daily tasks without much fuss. It’s a practical environment for practical people. We don't use big words or have long meetings that go nowhere. We just look at what needs to be done and we do it. Being at 211, Sheriff Devji Street works for us and we plan to stay right here. It's just a normal job. We show up and we work.
