Om Choclates is up on the 3rd floor of Mishra House on 4th Road in Khar West. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs but it’s where we do all our work. We started making things here a few years ago. The space is mostly taken up by the cooling racks and the tables where we wrap everything. Since we are in Khar West, it’s a nice enough area but the building itself is just a regular old house converted into workspaces. It gets quite warm in the afternoons so we have to keep the fans going full speed. We aren't a big factory with machines. Most of what we do is by hand, so it takes a lot of time to get through the orders. The smell of cocoa is everywhere in the room, which is nice at first but you get used to it after an hour. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we are working late and making noise with the molds. We spend our days melting, pouring, and then waiting for things to set properly. The packaging is just plain boxes usually. We don't have a big sign outside or anything. People usually just hear about us and come to the 3rd floor to pick up their stuff. It’s a quiet way to make a living and we like it that way. We just focus on getting the flavors right.
