Nutan Ice Cream

Our setup for Nutan Ice Cream is tucked away in the Champaklal Industrial Estate at Sion (E). We are at unit 105/21, right along the Sion Koliwada Road. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always a lot of noise and trucks moving around, but we’ve made our home here. We spend our time making different batches of ice cream and getting them ready for delivery. It’s not a retail shop where you come to sit and eat, but more of a production spot. The machines are running most of the day, and it can get quite chilly inside because of the freezers. We’ve been in this part of Sion for years, and we know the other business owners in the estate pretty well. Sometimes the traffic on Koliwada Road is a nightmare, but we manage to get our shipments out eventually. We aren't a massive factory, just a local operation doing what we know how to do. The floor is usually wet from cleaning, and the air smells like milk and sugar most of the time. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks; we just make the ice cream and send it out to the shops that sell it. It's a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy tubs and checking temperatures, but it's honest work. Being in an industrial estate means we focus on the work rather than how the front looks. We keep things simple and just keep the production line moving along.
