About Next Generation Trekkers – Tourism in Mumbai
We don't really have a regular office like most people. Our work at Next Generation Trekkers happens right inside the Western Ghats. Most of the time, we are out where the air is a bit cooler and the ground is uneven. It’s not about having a desk or a fancy address. We spend our days looking at trails and checking the weather. Our gear is usually piled up in a small storage space when we aren't using it, and it usually smells a bit like damp earth and old raincoats. The Western Ghats are huge, and being out there means we deal with a lot of mud, bugs, and unpredictable rain. We don't have a receptionist; usually, you just reach us on the mobile when we have a signal. It’s a very simple way of living and working. We worry more about the state of the paths than the state of our clothes. Most of the people we deal with are just looking to get away from the city for a while. We show them the hills and the trees. It’s hard work on the legs, but it’s what we do. Some days the mist is so thick you can't see ten feet in front of you. That’s just part of the job. It’s a bit messy and exhausting, but it’s real. We don't use much tech, just the basics to keep things safe and moving.
