Our spot is in Worli West, situated around the Shrawasti Nagar area. It is a bit of a different setup since we are C/O another location, which basically means we share some space. It isn't a massive parlor with neon lights. It is a fairly quiet place most of the time. We spend our day keeping an eye on the freezer temperatures and making sure the inventory is where it should be. Working with ice cream means you are always dealing with the cold, even when it is sweltering outside in Mumbai. We have a few different options for people to choose from, but we don't try to overcomplicate things. The people who come in are usually just locals from Shrawasti Nagar or workers taking a break. We don't have a big mission statement or any corporate goals. We just want to make sure the ice cream stays frozen and the customers get what they asked for. Sometimes the supply truck is late because of the Worli traffic, and we just have to wait it out. The shop is kept clean and we try to be quick with the service so nobody is standing around too long. It is a very practical, everyday kind of job. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It is just a functional space where we work. We have been here for a while and we are quite comfortable with the slow and steady pace of the day.
