New Paradise Traders

Our shop, New Paradise Traders, is located at 33, Banian Road in Pydhonie. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded Pydhonie gets. There are carts and bikes everywhere, and the noise never really stops. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend more time worrying about the inventory than the decor. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we put everything so we don’t trip over things. Usually, someone is sitting at the front desk with a cup of tea, waiting for the morning deliveries to show up. The mornings are usually the busiest part of the day for us. We deal with all sorts of people coming in and out, some just looking and some who have been coming here for years. We don't really do much advertising because people just seem to find us. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and checking lists. By the time evening comes, we’re usually pretty tired, but we lock up and do it all again the next day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life. Banian Road is a tough place to navigate, but it’s home for the business. We just try to do right by the people who come in and handle things fairly.
