New Mahalaxmi Farsan Mart

I've been here at Shop No 6 on the main road for a while now. Most people know us as New Mahalaxmi Farsan Mart. We're right at Dharavi Limda Chowk, which gets pretty busy during the day. It’s just me and a couple of others usually. We make all the regular farsan items right here. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cramped because we have bags of ingredients stacked up, but we manage. People stop by on their way home to get something crunchy for tea. The main road is always noisy, but that’s just how it is in Dharavi. We try to keep the glass jars full of fresh snacks. Sometimes we run out of certain things by evening if it's been a busy day. I started this because I know how to make good snacks and there was a space available here in Ti. It’s not a fancy place at all. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of the dust from the street. We don’t have much space for sitting, so people just stand or take their bags to go. It’s a straightforward shop. If you walk past the chowk, you’ll see our sign. We keep the light on until late most nights. Nothing complicated about it, just a local snack mart trying to do its thing in the middle of all the chaos here. We don't do anything special, just fry up the snacks and sell them.
