National Institute Of Industrial Engineering Powai

Even though the name says Powai, our specific spot is 1/7, Ambika Niwas. It is in Neharu Nagar, Kanjurmarg East. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it’s a nice local neighborhood. We are part of the National Institute Of Industrial Engineering, but this little office in Mumbai 400042 is where some of the ground-level work happens. It’s a very plain building. No glass elevators or marble floors here. Just sturdy walls and a few ceiling fans that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time sorting through paperwork and coordinating things. It is the kind of work that doesn't get much attention, but it has to be done. We have a small team here. Most of us have been working in Kanjurmarg for years, so we know all the local lunch spots. We don't really do formal meetings with agendas. We just talk across the room when something needs solving. It’s a very practical environment. There’s no pressure to look a certain way. We just focus on getting the tasks finished. The neighbors know us, and we know them. It feels like a small village inside the big city. We just keep things moving, one day at a time, without any fuss or complicated systems. It’s just regular work by regular people who care about getting the little things right.
