The shop sits right there on A H Wadia Marg, just down the way from Bhabha Hospital. We’ve been at Shop No 33 /34 in the Kailash Industrial Estate for quite a while now. Most days it’s just us handling the usual Kurla West crowd. People come in when they’re visiting the hospital or just passing through the estate. It gets a bit busy around noon when the sun is really hitting the pavement outside. We keep most of the basic stuff people need for their houses. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. Just shelves filled with whatever we could fit in. Sometimes the stock takes a day or two to get sorted when the delivery truck comes late. The fans inside don't always keep it cool enough, especially in the humid months. Most of the people around here know us by face. We don’t really do much talking, just handing over the items and making sure the change is right. It’s a lot of opening boxes and checking what’s left on the shelves before closing up for the night. The road outside always has some construction or traffic going on, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It's just a regular spot for the folks living and working around this part of Kurla. We aren't doing anything big, just keeping the shop open and the jars full.
