About My Homemade Chocolate – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
You have to come up to 501 in the Indraprastha 1A building to find us. We are in Malad East, right on Jitendra road. It is a residential area, so it is mostly just us working in the kitchen and the spare room of the flat. Being on the fifth floor means we don't get random walk-ins, which is fine because we need the focus to get the chocolate right. The road outside can get quite noisy with the traffic, but up here it's mostly quiet. We spend our days melting chocolate and pouring it into various shapes. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us doing everything from scratch. We don't have a big staff or fancy branding. Most of our tools are just things you'd find in a regular kitchen, though we have a lot of them now. The smell of cocoa is pretty much stuck in the curtains and the walls by now. We try to organize the boxes neatly, but during busy times like festivals, the whole place gets a bit chaotic with packing material and tape. We just do our best to get the orders ready on time. Malad East has been our home for a long time, so it felt natural to start this here. It's honest work and it keeps us busy throughout the day. Everything happens right here in 501.
