You can find us at Sarkar Plaza, shops 1 and 2, right in Bandra West. It’s a lively area, as anyone who lives in Mumbai knows. There’s always something happening right outside our doors. We’ve got a decent amount of space here compared to some of the tiny stalls you see elsewhere, but we still manage to fill it up with buckets and boxes pretty quickly. The morning starts with the sound of shutters going up all along the street. We get our shipments in and start the process of checking everything. Some days the lilies are perfect, and other days we have to spend extra time picking out the bruised petals. Bandra has a mix of everyone, from students to old-timers who have lived here for decades. We see a bit of everyone coming through Sarkar Plaza. We don’t put on any airs here. The shop is a place of work, so there are usually bits of ribbon and discarded leaves on the floor while we’re in the middle of things. We try to keep it tidy, but when three people walk in at once, that goes out the window. We just focus on getting the flowers ready. Whether it’s a bunch for a church service or a gift for someone's housewarming, we just put it together and hand it over. It’s a busy life in Bandra, and we’re just glad to be a small part of the daily routine here.
