M.T. Engineering Works

The shop is over in Marol Naka, inside the Reddy Compound. If you know the area, it’s tucked away a bit. We’ve been operating M.T. Engineering Works from this spot for quite a long time now. Most days it’s just the sound of the lathe machines and the smell of cutting oil. We handle a lot of metal jobs, mostly for local folks or small factories nearby that need a part fixed or a specific piece made from scratch. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, there is always some iron dust on the floor or grease on the workbenches. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. People just walk in through the main door and talk to us directly about what they need. Sometimes they bring a rough drawing on a piece of paper, and we try to make it work. The heat gets a bit much in the summer months since the ventilation isn’t the best, but we keep the fans going. We have a few old machines that have been with us since the start, and they still run better than some of the newer stuff we’ve seen. It’s just honest work with our hands. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we know the quirks of the metal we use.
