If you walk down Agiary Khau Gali in Kalbadevi, you will find us on the ground floor. This area is famous for food, and it’s always crowded with people. Being in a spot like Khau Gali means there is never really a quiet moment from morning to night. We are Mokshkari Dugdhpan, and we mostly focus on milk-based drinks and snacks. The name sounds a bit traditional, and that’s because we like to keep things simple. We have big containers of milk and we are constantly serving people who are passing through Subbaramashetty Road. It’s a very old part of Mumbai, so the lanes are narrow and the buildings are packed together. Our shop isn't very large, so people often stand outside on the pavement to finish their drinks. We get all kinds of people—traders from the nearby markets, students, and tourists who are often a bit lost. In the mornings, it’s all about the quick glass of milk before work. In the evenings, it’s more about the sweets and the social vibe of the street. It’s a lot of cleaning because milk spills easily and everything has to stay fresh. We don't have any fancy seating or decorations. The walls are just plain and the floor is stone. We just try to make sure the quality is okay and the service is fast enough for the Kalbadevi crowd. It’s a busy, noisy, but good life here in the heart of the market.
