Moksh Art Gallery

Being located in Fort means there is always something going on outside the door. The streets here are old and the buildings have that heavy feel to them. At Moksh Art Gallery, we spend a lot of time just moving things around to make space. It is not a very big area, but it works for what we need. Most mornings start with dusting the frames because the city air brings in a lot of grit. You can hear the taxis honking and people shouting all day long. Sometimes it feels like the walls are shaking when a big bus goes by. I usually sit near the front and watch the people walking past on the sidewalk. Some people look in through the glass but don't come in, and that is fine. We have been here for a bit now, so we know the other shop owners nearby. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so I usually keep the door shut to keep the cool air in. Dealing with art isn't always glamorous; there is a lot of bubble wrap and heavy lifting involved. I often find myself rearranging the lights because they never seem to point exactly where I want them to. It’s just a regular part of the day here in Fort. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the name on the door and the work on the walls inside.
