Our place is right at 26 Masjid Stadium Road. It’s a busy area, especially being opposite Crawford Market. There is always a lot of noise outside, with trucks and people moving about. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time. Mohtimbas Engineering is what the sign says, but most people just know us as the shop near the market. Inside, it’s a lot of metal and machines. The air usually smells a bit like oil and old iron. We have a few rooms where we keep the materials. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s an engineering workshop, so that’s expected. We spend most of our time at the workbenches. The light coming through the front windows isn't great, so we use some old lamps. We keep our tools in wooden boxes that have been around since we started. Sometimes the traffic on Stadium Road makes it hard for deliveries to arrive on time. We just wait it out. We aren't a huge corporation. It’s a private company but feels more like a small family shop. We talk to the vendors across the street every morning. Everyone knows everyone around here. We don't have a website that we update often. Most of our work comes from people walking in or calling the old landline. It’s a busy life, but we like the energy of the market. We keep a stack of old newspapers in the corner to wrap things when we are done with the day's tasks.
