Modren Fabricators & Engineers

We are Modren Fabricators & Engineers, located at 2 Kurla West. Our workshop is on the ground floor, which makes it easier for us to move heavy metal pieces in and out. Kurla West is a busy, crowded area with lots of small workshops like ours. There is always the sound of welding, grinding, and hammering coming from our space. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we like the activity. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and we always have grease on our clothes. We make things out of iron and steel, following the sketches people bring us. Some days we are working on simple gates, and other days it’s more complex machine parts. The heat from the welding torches makes the shop very warm, especially in the afternoons. We have a big rolling shutter that we keep open to let in air. Our neighbors are mostly other tradespeople, so there’s a lot of borrowing tools and helping each other out. We don’t have a big corporate office or fancy titles. We’re just engineers and fabricators who know how to work with metal. It’s a tough job and it’s hard on the body, but there’s a sense of satisfaction in finishing a piece. We stay busy with whatever jobs come through the door. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-job with our goggles on, trying to get a project finished before the day ends. It is just the way we do things here in this part of Kurla.
