Mistry Engineering Works

We spend most of our time here at Neha Industrial Estate on the Pune Solapur Road. It is a busy area in Borivali East where the traffic never really stops. Inside Office No 29, it is mostly about the machines and the work that needs doing every day. Mistry Engineering Works is just a place where things get handled. We have some heavy equipment and tools scattered around the floor. It is not the cleanest place in the world because engineering work involves a lot of grease and metal dust. Usually, the fan is humming and there is a smell of oil in the air. People come by and we talk about what parts need fixing or what needs to be made. Some days are very loud with the sound of grinding and cutting. We have been here for a while and the walls show it. The desk is covered in old papers and some coffee mugs. It’s a practical space. We don’t have fancy chairs or a lobby. Just the workshop floor and the tools we use to get things sorted. If you walk down the road past the other units, you’ll find us easily. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons but that is just how it is. We keep the shutters up most of the day to let some air in from the road. It is just a normal spot where we do our technical jobs and keep things moving for the local area.
