Running May Flowers Florists keeps us on our feet all day long. We are located on the ground floor of the Oberoi Tridant Towers, specifically within the Karnavati Super Market area at Nariman Point. It’s a very busy part of the city, so there is always a lot of noise and people rushing past our door. Being in such a large building complex means we see all sorts of people, from office workers in their formal clothes to tourists staying at the hotel who just want something bright for their room. The market area has its own energy, and it can get quite loud with the echoes of shoppers and security guards. We have a routine of checking the water in every single vase and making sure the petals are looking okay. The air conditioning in the building helps a bit with the Mumbai humidity, but it can also dry things out if we aren't careful. Our space isn't huge, so we have to be very organized with where we put the different varieties. Sometimes the delivery guys struggle to find the exact spot because the towers are so big, but once they know the way through the super market, it's fine. We don't spend money on fancy decorations for the shop itself because the flowers do that work for us. It is mostly just about keeping up with the pace of Nariman Point and making sure we have enough stock for the evening rush when people are headed home.
