Mamta General Stores

Our store is located on Sanjay Nagar Road in the Lalji Pada area of Kandivali. Being so close to the police station means there is always a lot of movement nearby. We sell all the basic stuff you’d expect from a general store, like milk, bread, soaps, and snacks. It’s a small shop, so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves to make everything fit. Usually, it's just one or two of us behind the counter. We know most of the people who live in the buildings around here. They stop by for a packet of biscuits or some tea leaves on their way home from work. The morning rush is the busiest time for us. Sometimes the delivery guys arrive all at once and it gets a bit cramped inside with all the crates. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just walk in and ask for what they need. The sidewalk outside is usually busy with street vendors and people walking to the station. We try to keep the shop clean, but with so many feet coming in and out all day, it's a bit of a struggle. It’s a good spot to be in, right in the heart of the neighborhood. We stay open late most nights because people always realize they forgot something for dinner at the last minute. It’s just a regular local shop for regular people.
