Mohammed's Dharavi Slum Tours

I am Mohammed, and I run these tours in Dharavi from my small base in Mahim. It all started out quite small, just me showing a few interested people around the lanes where I grew up and spent my whole life. Now, it has become what I do every single day. I do not use a big tour bus or any fancy equipment for this. We just walk. I want people to see the real side of our neighborhood, including the small workshops, the local schools, and the recycling areas where everyone is working hard. It is a very busy place, always full of life and a lot of noise. My goal is not to put on some kind of show but to show how people actually live and work in this part of the city. We walk through the narrow alleys and talk to the locals I have known since I was a kid. The tour usually starts near Mahim because it is a good meeting point for everyone. I do not follow a strict script when I talk; I just explain what we are seeing as we go along. Some days are much hotter than others, so we just take it slow and find some shade when we need to. I try to explain the local economy and how everyone is busy making things like leather goods or pottery. It is just an honest look at our community.
