Mahavir General Store

We are located at Senior House, Shop Number 4, in the Vakola area of Santacruz. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Hanuman Mandir. This is a busy part of Mumbai, and there is always something happening outside the door. The shop is small, which is typical for this area, but we try to make use of every inch of space. We have things hanging from the ceiling and stacked high on the walls. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people come in at once, but we make it work. Most of our customers are locals who stop by after visiting the temple or while they are running errands in Vakola. I know many of them by name. We sell the usual stuff like lentils, spices, soaps, and snacks. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars and making sure everything is where it should be. The humidity in Mumbai can be a bit much, but the breeze from the street helps. I don't use any computers for my work, just a pen and a pad to note down what people owe or what I need to buy from the wholesaler. It is a simple business run by simple people. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just want to keep the shop going and be there when a neighbor needs a packet of tea. We keep the shelves stocked for everyone living around.
