You can find us at 7619 in Andheri East. It’s a busy part of the city, and we’ve been tucked away here for a while. The name might sound a bit much, but the shop itself is actually quite plain. We focus on getting things done rather than how the place looks. Most of the space is taken up by cold storage and work tables. Andheri East is always crowded, so there is never a dull moment. We have a small crew of people who help out with the heavy lifting and the arranging. We don’t really follow a strict schedule. If the flowers show up early, we start early. If someone needs something last minute, we stay late. It’s a flexible way to run things. We see a lot of office workers around here who stop in before heading home. The air in the shop is always a bit damp because of all the water we use to keep things fresh. Our shoes are usually wet by the end of the shift. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just pick out the flowers that look okay and put them together. Sometimes we have a lot of roses, and other times it’s mostly carnations. It just depends on what is coming out of the ground. We like the grit of Andheri and being a part of the daily life here. We just try to keep the petals looking bright until they leave our door.
