M K Engineering

Our place is at the H O Vadhani Industrial Estate in Ghatkopar West. It is right off the LBS road. If you have ever been to this estate, you know it is a lot of workshops and small units all crammed together. M K Engineering is just one of those units. We do a lot of heavy work here. The air usually smells like metal and machine oil. It is not the cleanest place in the world, but it is where we get things done. We have got the heavy machines running most of the day, so it gets pretty loud. You have to shout to be heard sometimes. The LBS road outside is always jammed with traffic, which makes getting deliveries in and out a bit of a headache. We just take it as it comes. It is a lot of hard work, standing on concrete floors all day long. My hands are usually stained with something by lunch. We do not have a front office or anything like that. You just walk in and we are there working. Some days are better than others, depending on how the machines are behaving. We have been in the Vadhani Industrial Estate for quite some time, so we know most of the other guys around here. It is a community of sorts, even if everyone is just focused on their own work. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It is just how we live.
