Ladiwalas Fine Jewellery isn’t your typical big shop with security guards and bright lights. We work out of Old Ashok in Borivali West, specifically in flat 502 of the I Wing. It’s on Jetalpur Road, not far from the Siddhivinayak Temple. Most people who come to see us are looking for something personal, and they like that we’re in a quiet residential building instead of a mall. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighbors are all friendly. The workspace is simple. We have a few desks where we look at designs and talk to visitors. It’s a bit more relaxed than a retail store. You might hear someone’s TV in the background or the sound of the temple bells if the wind is right. We focus on the small details of the pieces we handle. Since we aren’t on the ground floor, we don't get many random walk-ins, which suits us just fine. It’s mostly people who’ve heard about us from their family or friends. We make tea for anyone who drops by, and we usually end up chatting about more than just jewelry. The building is a bit older, so it has that lived-in feel. We prefer it this way because it makes the whole process feel more honest and less like a transaction. It’s just us doing what we know best in our corner of Borivali every single day.
