Khetwadi 242 is where we spend most of our time. It is one of those old Mumbai neighborhoods where all the buildings are packed close together. Kwik Travels Network is basically just a small room filled with papers and a couple of old wooden desks. We have been in Khetwadi for a lot of years, so we know the local rhythms and the people pretty well. The traffic outside our window is constant, and you can always hear the horns honking down the lane. We handle a lot of different travel requests, mostly just local folks needing to get from one city to another without any fuss. It is not a high-tech setup by any means. We use our mobile phones a lot and keep most of our important notes on small paper scraps. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three different people call at the same time. We do not have a big marketing budget or some polished website. It is just about getting the work done every single day. The building is quite old, and the stairs leading up are a bit steep for some. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for trip confirmations to come through the wire. It is a lot of manual work, checking old schedules and verifying dates. Most of the people who come to 242 are regulars. It is a basic way to earn a living in Khetwadi.
