Kuldeep Engineering Works

Working in the Ghatkopar Industrial Estate means there is always something happening outside. LBS Marg is right there, and the sound of trucks is constant. Our unit, A/18, is where we handle the engineering side of things. It’s a bit of a maze getting back here sometimes with all the other units crammed together. Inside, it’s mostly lathes and drilling machines. There’s a particular rhythm to the day that everyone follows without really talking about it. We start by checking what came in the previous evening. Sometimes the power fluctuates, which is a real pain when you’re in the middle of a precise job. We have some old fans that wobble a lot but keep the air moving, which is necessary when it gets humid. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the rains hit hard. When it pours, the water sometimes splashes under the door, and we have to move the smaller parts to higher shelves. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to answer the phones in a professional voice. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to the desk picks it up. Usually, people just come by the estate when they need something made or fixed. We’ve been doing this long enough that the regulars know exactly where to find us. It’s just a normal engineering shop doing what needs to be done every day.
