Kerala General Store

Our little shop, Kerala General Store, is tucked away in Shop No 2/6 within the Santoshi Nagar Society. We’re right on Village Road in Bhandup West, which is a pretty lively neighborhood. Living and working in a housing society means you really get to know the people around you. We mostly sell the kind of stuff you realize you’ve run out of at the last minute—milk, eggs, soap, or maybe some specific items from back home. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space to stack our inventory. It can feel a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once. During the monsoon, the Village Road can get quite messy, but people still trudge through to get their groceries. We open up early and stay open until fairly late because we know someone always forgets something for dinner. We don't have any big advertisements; most people just know we’re here because they live nearby. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes, especially when they don't bring exactly what we ordered. But we just manage with what we have on the shelves. It’s a simple life, ringing up sales and helping neighbors find what they need. You hear all the local gossip and see the kids growing up over the years. We aren't trying to be anything more than a reliable place for the people in Santoshi Nagar to get their basics. It’s just a small family-run corner of the world.
