Our school is situated way down at the end of Colaba on Dr. Homi Bhabha Road. Being in New Navy Nagar, it is a very specific part of Mumbai that feels a bit removed from the main rush of the city. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age in a few places, but it is sturdy. The sea breeze comes in off the coast, which is one of the perks of being this far south. Most of the kids who come here belong to navy families, so there is a lot of coming and going as people get posted to different places. Our staff are used to that rhythm. The hallways are long and have seen thousands of students pass through over the decades. We do not have anything particularly fancy in terms of facilities—just the standard classrooms, a library that is a bit cramped, and a big open ground where the kids spend their breaks. It is a simple life here. We follow the usual schedules, deal with the Mumbai monsoon every year, and keep the gates open for the neighborhood. It is not about being the most modern place; it is just about being a reliable school for the community in Navy Nagar. You won't find any flashy signs or high-tech lobbies here. Just a lot of desks, a lot of books, and the daily sounds of a busy school day that we have all grown used to.
