Karmarkar

Karmarkar is our little shop located at number 5 in Sarvoday Nagar, in the High area of Goregaon East. We’re right across from the Kohinoor Industrial Estate. Being near the industrial estate means we see a lot of workers and delivery trucks passing by all day long. It gets pretty dusty and loud sometimes, but that’s the nature of the area. We’ve been in this shop for a good while and have gotten to know most of the people around here. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just a local business where we handle things ourselves. Whether we’re dealing with customers or sorting out our stock, we just keep things moving. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we organize everything. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when a few people come in at once. We like being part of the Goregaon East community. It’s a hardworking part of town and we fit right in. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. We just have our name on the front and we do our work. People know they can come to Shop No 5 if they need something. We try to stay open late enough for the people finishing their shifts across the road. It’s a steady life and we’re happy with how things are. Just a regular shop in a busy neighborhood.
