Karma Chocolates

Karma Chocolates is based out of Block No 702 in Satellite Park, which is part of the Mhada Estate in Jogeshwari East. It’s a bit different from a regular shop because we work out of this block. The smell of cocoa is pretty much everywhere here, which is nice but you get used to it after an hour. We spend most of our time melting, molding, and wrapping. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s quiet and peaceful for the most part. The kitchen setup takes up most of the space in 702. We have cooling racks and marble slabs that we use for the chocolate. It’s not a massive factory with big machines. It’s mostly done by hand, so things aren’t always perfectly identical. Sometimes a batch takes longer to set because of the humidity in Jogeshwari. We don’t have a big storefront with neon signs. People usually find us through word of mouth or by coming to the estate. We use simple packaging because we care more about what’s inside. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure everything is handled properly. We keep the place very clean, obviously, but it’s still just a working kitchen in a residential-style block. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights during the holiday seasons. We just keep our heads down and keep making chocolate at Satellite Park.
