Ligma Leather Art

Ligma Leather Art is located in Kandivali East, specifically at Viceroy Court in Thakur Village. We’re in units 9 and 10. Thakur Village has changed a lot over the years, becoming quite a busy hub, but our little corner feels a bit more settled. We work with leather all day, so the shop always has that distinct, earthy smell. It’s a practical workspace where we focus on the craft. We have benches covered in tools and pieces of leather waiting to be turned into something useful. It’s not a sterile environment; there are scraps on the floor and sketches pinned to the walls. We don't really go for the high-end boutique look. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. People from the neighborhood often walk by and peek in to see what we’re working on. We’ve got a small team, and we all know each other’s habits by now. Sometimes the work is slow and meticulous, and other times we’re rushing to finish something. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just take the material and work it until it’s right. Living and working in Kandivali is convenient, and being in Viceroy Court gives us a good base. It’s a straightforward life, really. We just enjoy the process of making things with our hands and seeing the final result at the end of the day.
