Kanchan Lather

Kanchan Lather is a small shop located at number 8 in Kamaraj Nagar. We are right on Sant Rohidas Marg, which is part of the Sion Bandra Link Road area in Dharavi. If you’ve ever been through Dharavi, you know it’s a place that never really stops moving. There is a lot of leather work happening all around us. Our shop is quite modest. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just us and the materials we work with. The space is a bit cramped because we have to fit everything into shop number eight. It gets quite noisy with the traffic from the link road always humming in the background. We spend most of our hours here, either dealing with customers or sorting through our supplies. People often stop by because they saw our sign while stuck in traffic or walking to the nearby stations. We don’t really do any fancy advertising. We just rely on being in a spot where people are already looking for leather goods. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. It’s a very practical kind of place. We know the neighbors and they know us. Every day is pretty much the same routine of opening up, checking the stock, and seeing who comes by. It’s just how we do business here.
