We are based out of Flat No. 18 in the Anariya Building, which is number 46 on Jasmine Mill Road. This is over in the M L Camp area of R P Nagar, right in the heart of Mumbai. Working out of a flat gives the whole place a bit of a homey feel, even if it’s full of desks and computers. The building is one of those older structures where everyone knows their neighbors. We’ve been here for quite some time, doing consulting work for various clients. The road outside can get pretty loud with the mills and the general traffic, but once you’re inside the flat, it’s mostly just the hum of the air conditioners. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and heat up our lunch boxes every afternoon. The walk from the station isn’t too bad, though it’s a bit of a squeeze when the market is in full swing. Our desks are usually covered in papers and notebooks because we still like to write things down by hand sometimes. It’s not a fancy corporate headquarters with a lobby and a receptionist; you just walk up the stairs and knock on the door. We think this way of working suits us better than a big glass tower. It keeps us grounded and focused on the actual work instead of worrying about how everything looks to outsiders.
