Kala Sangam

If you are looking for Kala Sangam, we are right there in Shop 12/A at Hardevi Cooperative. It’s pretty easy to find because we are directly opposite the Shriraj Hotel in Jogeshwari East. The area is always buzzing with people grabbing a meal or heading to the station. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we like the spot we have. We’ve painted the walls a few times over the years, though the corners always seem to get scuffed up from moving stock around. There’s a bit of a routine here. We unlock the shutters, sweep the front, and check what needs to be sorted for the day. Sometimes the tea seller from around the corner drops by before we even have the lights on. We deal with a lot of different things, and the shelves are usually quite full, which makes the place feel a bit smaller than it actually is. It’s a local kind of shop where we know most of the faces that walk in. We don’t use any complicated systems, just a notebook and some basic shelves to keep things in order. It’s more about getting the job done than having a polished showroom. When the monsoon hits, we have to watch the doorway, but otherwise, it’s a steady place to spend the day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we’re still here, doing our thing right across from the hotel.
