Jyoti Arts is located at 17 Gokuldas Chawl. We are right on Krant Veer Vasant Rao Naik Marg in the Grant Road area of Mumbai. If you're looking for us, the easiest way is to find Bhatia Hospital first. We are just a short walk from there. Being in a chawl means it’s a very tight-knit environment. There are people everywhere and it is never truly silent. You hear the tea stalls, the neighbors talking, and the constant hum of Grant Road traffic. It's a very old part of Mumbai, and the buildings have a lot of history in their walls. We occupy number 17, and it’s a small space, but we make it work. Mumbai 400007 is a busy place to live and work. The humidity can be tough in the summer, and the monsoon brings its own set of problems with the old pipes and the leaks. But we’ve been here so long it feels natural. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in from the street and there we are. We see the hospital staff and visitors passing by all day long. It's a very grounded way to exist. We just keep doing what we do, year after year. The stairs are narrow and the ceiling is a bit low, but it’s our spot in the city. We wouldn't know where else to go.
