Johris

Johris is situated right in the middle of Chira Bazar at Rajseela building on J S S Road. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. It’s one of those old Mumbai streets where there is always something happening. Our space in Rajseela is where we spend most of our day. The building has that old charm, though the stairs can be a bit steep if you’re not used to them. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. You can hear the honking from J S S Road all day long, but after a while, you just stop noticing it. Chira Bazar has a specific vibe, very traditional and busy. We get our mail delivered to the ground floor and then bring it up. It’s a small place, really, just enough room for what we need to do. There’s a tea vendor just a few steps away who makes the best cutting chai, and that’s basically what keeps us going. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights. People who know where we are just drop by. It’s a very grounded way of doing things. We like being part of the hustle and bustle here. It feels like the real heart of the city. We have a couple of wooden tables and some old chairs. Most of the day is spent just sorting through things and talking to whoever comes in through the door. It’s usually a long day but we don't mind.
