You can find Jhonson Engineering & Moulding Co. over at 12, Hari Om Estate. It’s right off G.D. High School Road in the Saijpur Bogha area. Being near a school means it gets very busy when the kids are coming or going. Our workshop is in a cluster of other small units in the Hirawadi area. It’s a lot of metal and machines in here. The smell of oil and the sound of moulding equipment is just part of the day. We’ve been in this estate for a long time. It’s not a quiet job. We spend most of our hours checking the moulds and making sure the engineering side of things is moving right. The floor is usually covered in scraps, and we clean it up at the end of every shift. We have a small crew of guys who really know their way around the machinery. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend half the day fixing a part, which is just how it goes in this line of work. We don't have a big HR department or a marketing team. If someone needs something, they just walk into the shop and talk to us. We drink tea from the stall at the corner and keep the machines running. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. The heat from the machines can be a lot in the summer, but we’ve got some big fans that help a bit.
