Our office is down in Nariman Point, right on Free Press Journal Marg. Being in the Tulsiani Chamber on the ground floor means we see a lot of people walking by all day. It is a busy part of Mumbai, very different from the suburbs. We spend most of our time dealing with development paperwork and talking to people about land and buildings. The room is usually filled with the sound of the ceiling fan and the distant traffic from outside. It is not a very big space, just enough for our desks and a place to keep all the files we accumulate. Sometimes the tea man comes by, and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We have been operating from this Mumbai City address for some time now. Dealing with property in this city is a lot of back and forth, lots of waiting for things to move. We don't really have a big fancy sign outside, just the name on the door. It feels right being in the heart of the business district though. Every morning we walk past the big buildings to get here. The ground floor location is handy because we don't have to wait for the elevators, which can be a real pain in these older buildings. We just get on with the work, keeping track of different projects and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the month.
