Jay Ganesh Tobaco General Store

You can find us at the Jay Ganesh Tobaco General Store in Mulund West. We are in Shop No-4 of the Mehul Cinema Shoppi area on Castle Street. Being right by a cinema means we see a lot of different people. On weekends, it gets really crowded with folks coming to see the latest movies. We sell a bit of everything, the usual stuff you would expect from a general store. The shelves are packed tight because we try to fit as much as we can into this small space. It is a bit of a squeeze behind the counter, especially when we are restocking in the mornings. Castle Street is always busy, so there is a constant hum of engines and people talking right outside our door. We have been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. We open early and close late. That is just the way it goes with a store like this. We don't have any fancy displays. We just put the items where people can see them. It is a lot of standing around and waiting, punctuated by bursts of people wanting change or a quick snack. We know the other shopkeepers in the Mehul Cinema complex, and we all kind of look out for each other. It is a simple business. No frills, no corporate nonsense, just a regular general store trying to serve the local Mulund crowd as best as we can every single day.
