Jasmine Hall

We are up on the fourth floor here on S V Road in Kandivali West. It’s a busy spot, especially with the Poisar Bus Depot right behind us. You can hear the buses coming and going all day long if you stand near the back windows. Most people find us by looking for the depot first. We spend a lot of time just keeping the hall clean and making sure the lights work like they should. It’s a lot of space to mop, and the elevator gets a workout when there is a big group coming through. My cousin and I usually get here early to open the shutters. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything, just some regular guys trying to keep the place running. Sometimes the traffic on S V Road is so bad that it takes us forever just to get across the street for a snack. We’ve been in this building for a while now. The walls have seen a lot of different people pass through. We mostly just focus on our work and try to stay out of the heat. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but the fourth floor gets a decent breeze sometimes. We keep a few chairs near the entrance for when we need a break. It's not a complicated life. We just open up, do the cleaning, wait for the people to arrive, and then lock up when everyone is done. That is pretty much how things go here at Jasmine Hall every single day.
