Jasbaa Leathers

You can find Jasbaa Leathers over at J - 101 on Khambadevi Road in Sion. It is an industrial kind of area, so there are always trucks moving and people loading things nearby. Our space is in one of the older buildings. It has a heavy metal door and high ceilings. We do all our leather work inside those walls. The smell of the hides is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a scent we have all grown used to over the years. Khambadevi Road can get pretty messy when it rains, with puddles everywhere, but we just wear our boots and get on with it. We don’t have a showroom or anything like that. It is just a workshop where the real work happens. We have a few big tables for cutting and some sewing machines along the wall. Most of the guys have been working here a long time and they know exactly what they are doing. We don’t use any complicated systems. We just write things down and make sure the leather is handled right. Sion is a central place to be, so it makes sense for us to stay here. We just go about our business every day without making much of a fuss. It’s a practical way to run things and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We have some tea in the afternoon and then finish up the orders for the day.
