Our little office is tucked away at number 9 in the Vivek Industrial Estate in Vile Parle East. If you know the area, we are right across from the Syndicate Bank, which is a busy spot most mornings. It is mostly just us here handling the phones and trying to keep track of all the bus and train timings on the computer. The industrial estate gets quite noisy with all the small units around us, but we have been in this spot for a while now. Most days are spent looking at schedules or helping people figure out how to get from one town to the next without spending too much. The desk is usually covered in old diaries and printouts because the internet can be a bit slow in this building sometimes. We keep a fan going all day to deal with the heat. People from the nearby offices often stop by just to ask about ticket prices during their lunch break. We don't have fancy furniture or anything like that, just a few chairs for people to sit while we check the availability. It gets a bit cramped when more than two people walk in at once. The tea guy from the corner comes by twice a day and that is usually when we take a small break from the screens. We just try to get the bookings done right so nobody gets stuck at a station somewhere. It is a simple life here in Vile Parle.
